Gregg Atwill
Independent Actor - Screenwriter - Executive Film Producer:
" There are no failures in Hollywood, Only those who give up too soon. "

Gregg Atwill is from the Los Angeles Suburb of Pacific Palisades, CA. and growing up around well known Hollywood Celebrities as neighbors, would often earn Golf Cady money whenever Dean Martin's Stutz Bearcat was in the Riviera County Club parking lot, as a teen.

He was heavily was influenced by neighbor, Writer & Host of the Original Twilight Zone, Rod Serling's Saturday Morning Film & Television Writing Mentorship and began his entertainment career as a Popular Syndicated On-Air Personality (Gregg Stony) and News Journalist in the Radio Broadcasting Industry.

Phil Walden's  Capricorn Records noticed that Gregg Stony had a unique Broadcast Engineering skill that would be a perfect fit in Sound Reinforcements and as a Freelance Recording Engineer for the American Southern Rock Bands of the Seventies.

And...... The Road Goes On Forever, ...."

While working for Phil Walden's Capricorn Records, as a Stage Audio Engineer and in Sound Reinforcement  -  There were many times, the Band would schedule Concert Tours with Twenty - Eight, - Non Stop - Live Stage Performances in a Thirty Day Period ..

The truth of the matter is that the musicians put in about three hours a day of actual work.  From the time they leave the hotel until they're back on the bus for the night.  Not so with the road crew.

When you go to a concert you see a band come on stage and play, there is no way for the average person to know what is going on backstage and what has gone on behind the scenes in the 24 hours preceding the show.  Let me lay out a typical day for a Concert Sound Engineer and the Roadies.

We arrive at the venue usually around noon or earlier depending on show time -and other factors- spend the day setting up and testing mountains of equipment, tuning sound systems and focusing lights.  Then at the end of each concert, we tear it all down and reassemble it all over again in another town that is sometimes 600 mile or more away.

In October, 1979, Gregg suddenly turns the page in music career, as the whole the industry changes, when Capricorn Records closes their doors and at the unexpected untimely demise, of Marshall Tucker Band's Bassist, Tommy Caldwell, Six Months later on April 22, 1980.

He did remain associated with the disbanded members of the Capricorn Records Label and American Southern Rock Bands until around the time Warner Music Group Released " The Dedicated  Album and its subsequently Concert Tour. "    Warner / Capricorn Music Reference (Link:)

Gregg Atwill leaves the Music Business, and returns to a higher learning with Majors in Business Law / Film Entertainment & Broadcasting, while studying compound and comprehensive Film & Screenwriting Courses, under Academy Award Winner, Dan Gordon  at Universal City CA.
